Methodology

1. Define the reader’s question. Each explanation begins with the practical question it needs to answer and the limits of that question.
2. Consult appropriate sources. Official guidance, standards, technical references, and reliable educational sources are chosen according to the claim being checked. See Source Policy.
3. Separate fact from explanation. Established facts, calculations, practical interpretation, and editorial judgment are kept distinguishable.
4. Add useful context. Worked examples, comparisons, diagnostic steps, and decision conditions are included when they help a reader use the answer.
5. Check claims and uncertainty. Key statements are compared with their sources, consequential claims receive extra scrutiny, and relevant limits are stated plainly.
6. Correct meaningful errors. Substantive corrections and updates are reflected in the article; dates change only when the content meaningfully changes.

A method suited to the subject

A material comparison, a measurement, and a household troubleshooting question do not need identical treatment. The depth and form of an explanation follow the evidence and the task, not a fixed template. See Editorial Policy for the standards this method serves.
